Frequently Asked Questions

  • Before you decide whether this programme is right for your child, I ask that a parent or guardian books a ‘Learning Plan Call.’ This is an informal Zoom call to give you the opportunity to talk through your child’s situation and to ask any questions that you might have. You can either click here or email me at callum@clearpicturemaths.com.

Please note: this is not a sales call! I have no wish to enrol a child on the programme whose parents/guardians to feel pressured into signing up.

It’s very important that the students on this course feel hopeful and positive about being there.

Therefore, this is simply an opportunity for you to meet me and give you some ideas to use straight away that are right for your child.

  • The programme is made up of 4 modules, each with ten lessons. The videos are short, 4-6 minutes long and are designed to be watched and rewatched so the knowledge is embedded.

If your child engages with the material every day, they will answer 2-3 questions. Your child should aim to complete a module every 3 weeks.

  • The course is 12 weeks long. After that point, I will arrange an exit call with you. You will have access to the portal for 12 months to watch and rewatch the videos and the customised work sheets are yours to print and keep.

  • I certainly hope so and any learning your child does with my methods will improve their understanding of maths from day 1. To make the most progress, it is important that you and your child are committed to the course.

I am available to offer bespoke feedback via email and of course the videos can be rewatched.

  • Many students have bad memories of being in lockdown and disappearing into the wallpaper whilst the teacher struggled to teach online. My lessons are not like this! They are very small groups of no more than six students, and not all children will be there every week (see question below.)

The children are all there because they have struggled with maths and are committed to their learning, and the atmosphere in the meeting is incredibly positive, friendly and informal – far less pressured than a one-to-one scenario.

Children learn best in socially constructivist environments and my programme is designed to get children talking about maths, learning from each other and celebrating their changed maths mindset. It’s where the best kind of learning takes place.

  • Children live busy lives. I run two live lessons a week on Sunday 15:30 - 16:15 and Thursday 18:00 - 18:45. If you cannot make it to either lesson, there are recordings of the live lessons available.

  • The four modules cover multiplication, division, addition and subtraction starting at a Year 1 level and finishing at a Year 4 level.
